Libidinous Sin

Dear Francois (I’m sorry I don’t know your last name),

I believe I signed up a while ago for updates about The New Pantagruel. (Your site will not allow me to sign up again, so it seems that you still have me on record.) I have not, however, received any emails from your journal. Should I have? If my email is on your list, what should I expect to receive?

Thank you for your help,

Brian FitzGerald

Dear Brian–

Yes, there has been no newsletter since you subscribed on 2/24.

You are the first person to be so eager for our newsletter. It smacks of some kind of libidinous sin. Hence, as a discipline, perhaps you should not receive our next newsletter, which will soon herald the release of our Spring issue. If you read it, it may encourage vainglory, boasting, and the desire to impregnate random women.
